About Boot the Virus

Boot The Virus is a non profit organisation which is set up by two individuals. Kenny Marland and Joanne Dalton (KMJD). It is a campaign set up to raise money for the NHS. If you win an auction with these terms apply. They’re important for both parties as they set out what we expect from each other, and they also give you helpful information. Of course, if you need anything else, please get in touch with us via email or our social media channels– we will respond within 1 working day! How It Works

In the month of April we are reaching out to professional football clubs and players, including retired professionals in the aim of receiving signed boots from as many players as possible. All these boots will then be listed onto www.bootthevirus.com and on the 1st May the online auction will start. All auctions will run until 25th May, each league/categorey will have a different ending time that day which will be announce well in advance. Bullet points of key details below:

  • April 2020 all boots to be arranged by KMJD
  • 1st May all boots go onto an online auction via boothtevirus.com
  • To place a bid you must create a login to bootthevirus.com
  • Before bidding, you must ensure you have access to a Paypal account. Either in your name or an account you have permission from the named person to use.
  • When using Paypal. You are subject of their terms and conditions which you can find here: https://www.paypal.com/uk/webapps/mpp/ua/useragreement-full
  • Once you have created a login, you can bid as high or on as many pairs of boots as you want
  • By placing a bid, you agree to pay the amount payable in £ GBP should you win the auction
  • All bids are in £ GBP and the amount payable will be in £ GBP
  • If You win an auction,you will be notified by email at the end of the auction.
  • Only the winning bid will be payable, any previous bids that have been surpassed will not be payable.
  • The winning emails will include a link to make payment via Paypal
  • Once payment is received the boots will be posted out
  • Payment MUST be made within 7 days of the auction ending. If payment is not made within this time then the item will be offered to the next highest bidder. This is to reduce any delays in donating the funding all in one go.
  • Please note that items do not come with a certificate of authenticity

 

Raffle

How The Raffle Will Work

We are holding a raffle for a Puma King football boot signed by Paul Gascoigne in black permanent marker pen. Personally. This comes with its own official certificate of authenticity which serves as proof that your product is genuine. Expertly framed in a bespoke dome display with a quality black frame, two action pictures, and descriptive plaque with the money raised going to the NHS Charities Together fund.

To be in with a chance to win, all you have to do is donate a minimum of £5 via the paypal button and a winner will be chosen at random next Monday at 8pm (11th May 2020) accounts. All names of people donated will be placed into a bucket, and a winner will be chosen at random. We will do this by going live on Instagram to show total transparency. We will announce the winner on our Twitter/ Facebook and Instagram.

For every £5 you donate you will receive an entry into the raffle, so a £10 donation would get you two entries and so on. Please tag your mates to let them know they can enter!

100% of the money from this raffle will be added to the total of Boot The Virus campaign, and 100% of money received is donated to the NHS Charaties Together fund

  • This raffle is open to UK residents aged 18 and over
  • Entries must be received by 5pm on Monday 11th May
  • Boot The Virus accepts no responsibility for any entries that are incomplete, illegible, corrupted or fail to reach the boot The Virus by the relevant closing date for any reason. Proof of posting or sending is not proof of receipt. Automatically generated entries and entries via agents or third parties are invalid and shall not be considered. Entries become the property of the Boot The Virus and are not returned
  • The winners will be notified via email once they have been chosen. The winners must claim their prize within 30 working days of Boot The Virus sending notification. If the prize is unclaimed after this time, it will lapse and Boot The Virus reserves the right to offer the unclaimed prize to a substitute winner selected in accordance with these rules
  • By entering the prize draw each entrant agrees to be bound by these terms and conditions   

 

Postage

We use ROYAL MAIL as our courier service for all boots posted and all parcels are fully tracked and signed for. If you have provided us with an email address and mobile number, you will receive an email confirmation and a text message alert from Royal Mail once the parcel is due to be delivered. These alerts will also provide tracking details for you’re parcel. Royal Mail notify every single delivery as standard if the correct information is provided. 

Please note: The £3.50 price is for UK postage only. If you require overseas postage please email us prior for a direct quote – admin@bootthevirus.com.

We aim to post your boots within 5/7 days after collecting them from training grounds. We will be collecting all boots as soon as Government remove/reduce social distancing restrictions. We will post updates on social media. Please feel free to contact us via email if you would like an update on your purchase and we'll be happy to help. 

We will not be liable to you or be deemed to be in breach of the contract by reason of any delay in performing, or any failure to perform, any of its obligations in relation to the goods ordered by you if the delay or failure was due to any cause beyond our reasonable control.

 

Refunds

Due to the nature of the campaign and the fact that the money paid by you will be donated to The NHS Charities,  no refunds will be granted.

 

Data

Our Privacy Policy sets out how we’ll use your information. If your details change, remember that you need to update My Account.

We are on social media across Twitter, Facebook and Instagram and we like to interact with you through social media. However, we can’t control those social media platforms or how you set your profiles on them. Please check and set your privacy settings so that you understand and are comfortable with how your personal information on those platforms will be used. 

By signing up, you agree that we can use your information for marketing purposes. Any marketing communications from us will only ever be about Boot The Virus. We do not share your information with any third parties.

Donation to The NHS Charities

All winning bids and payments will have Paypal charges deducted from the gross amount of £ GBP. Once we have received payments from all the auctions, 100% of the money received to KMJD from Paypal will be donated to the NHS Charities Together. Please see their website www.nhscharitiestogether.co.uk for information on how they use funding.

  • Postage fees will not be included in the amount donated
  • KMJD will make the donation in one payment to the NHS and proof will be posted on boothevirus.com and across all our social media channels.
